BTMS-50 is a cationic (positively charged) emulsifying wax. Because it’s cationic it is also “conditioning”—it adsorbs (creates a very fine coating) on skin and hair, giving an amazing finish that is unique to cationic ingredients. A fatty alcohol used as a thickener in lotions, salves, body butters, and more. It is a blend of cetyl alcohol and stearyl alcohol. Cetearyl alcohol is not drying or irritating to the skin as it is not “that kind” of alcohol. The alcohols to be worry about in skin care products are volatile liquid alcohols like ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. |

Tamanu oil (also known as calophyllum oil) is a liquid carrier oil pressed from the seeds of the tamanu tree from South East Asia. Tamanu oil is mostly comprised of oleic and linoleic acid, but does contain relatively high amounts of stearic and palmitic acid. | |

Vitamin E is a potent antioxidant and beneficial skincare ingredient.
The term “vitamin E” refers to 8 different chemical compounds: four tocopherols and four tocotrienols (alpha, beta, gamma, and delta). Different vitamin E products can contain different blends or isolations of these different vitamin E chemicals. Protects skin from environmental damage. Vitamin E is not a preservative. While it can help extend the shelf life of products by delaying the onset of rancidity, it does nothing to prevent microbial growth.
